The Associated Press article The Russian news site translates Twitter posts into Russian and has the tweets on a website called “RT” that has thousands of followers.
“RT is the most influential news service in the world, but we have to adapt to the modern world.
We have to learn to live in the social media era, that is how we can reach more people, and that is why we have started a brand new project,” said Alexander Shostakov, the project manager.
“This new project will make RT even more useful for our viewers, and also for our users.”
The Russian-language version of Twitter has nearly 500 million followers and has more than 10 million followers on Twitter itself.
Twitter did not immediately respond to Mashable’s request for comment.
